My early morning chat with Javin

Last night at 330 AM Jav was in his room crying. I went in and his diaper was falling off so I got that situated and laid down with him and this is our conversation:


Jav: Mom, beavers chew  through trees with their teeth and when the tree falls they yell "timber!"

Me: Where did you learn about that?

Jav: On the Cat In the Hat ( a PBS cartoon)

Me: Oh

Jav: Then beavers stack the trees and sticks with mud and sometimes it leaks and they have to put more trees and mud in so the water doesn't squirt through.

Me: Wow, you know alot about beavers.

Jav: Yeah and a tree fell when daddy was in the woods camping (one really did about a month ago when he was camping with the scouts and Jav remembered it even though he only heard about it in passing).

So I laid in bed with Jav for about 15 minutes and listened to this story just laughing and completely amazed at how much he learned from watching one cat in the hat! And people say tv isn't educational! HA!
